About Us

Exton Allergy & Asthma Associates was founded in November 2008. Our mission is to provide superior specialty care to patients with asthma, allergic diseases, sinus disorders and immunologic conditions. Our physicians are diplomates of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. We strive to deliver the highest quality of personalized and comprehensive allergy care to our patients and participate with all major health insurance plans.

Angela D'Urso, MD, FACAAI

Dr. D'Urso completed her residency training in internal medicine and her fellowship in allergy and immunology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.  Prior to relocation to Exton, Dr. D'Urso was in private practice in Minnesota.
Dr. D'Urso's primary professional interests include asthma, rhinitis, sinusitis, eye allergies, and vocal cord dysfuction.
Dr. D'Urso is a fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
Soheil Chegini, MD, FAAAAI, FACAAI

Dr. Chegini completed his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Minnesota and his fellowship in allergy and immunology at the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Chegini is interested in allergic diseases in children and adults, asthma, food and drug allergies, hives, eczema and immunodeficiency.
Dr. Chegini served as an assistant professor of medicine and pediatrics at Penn State University from 2004 to 2010 before he joined our practice.  He is a fellow of the American Academy and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and a member of Clinical Immunology Society.

Our goal is to devise individualized treatment plans to meet each patient’s healthcare needs while respecting personal beliefs and considering their preferences and expectations. We do our best to get to know our patients and understand their priorities to establish a plan that our patient is able and willing to implement.

The majority of allergic and immunologic disorders and asthma are chronic conditions that require long term treatment. To promote long term health and improve quality of life, we aim to minimize the need for and reliance on medications. This can be achieved in part by emphasizing lifestyle changes and environmental modifications to minimize exposure to triggers. Another pillar of our approach is addressing the root cause of allergic conditions, which is an aberrant immune response to innocuous allergens that is achieved by allergen immunotherapy, which is a potentially curative approach.

We frequently use medications in our treatment plans, but believe the least amount of medication that enables us to control our patient’s symptoms and disease process, is the most appropriate. We strive to provide the best possible care by judicious use of only the least number of tests and procedures to avoid putting an undue financial burden on our individual patients and their family as well as the society in general.

How do we excel in serving our patients?

• All members of our staff are dedicated to treating each and every patient who seeks care at our office with utmost respect and dignity.

• During office hours, your call will be answered by one of our receptionists without having to navigate through a maze of choices in a dial menu.

• During evening hours and weekends, you will be able to speak with one of our physicians, Dr. D’Urso or Dr. Chegini, who will do their best to help you and not some anonymous "on-call" doctor.

• In case of an urgent condition, we do our best to provide care in our office on the same day. If that is not possible we initiate or modify treatment to ameliorate symptoms until definitive care can be rendered.
